At Chariot Claims, we value transparency in our work. Whether you’re curious about how Chariot operates or considering joining us, here’s a look under the hood at the tools and systems powering our mission, why we chose them, and where we’re headed next.
We’re an ambitious team with a big mission: holding corporations accountable when they break the law. One of the primary ways we do that is through mass arbitration, a powerful legal tool that levels the playing field for everyday people. To learn more about how it works, check out our Mass Arbitration 101 article. That mission means the systems we build need to be reliable and scalable as we progress.
Key Builds That Power Chariot
From day one, our engineering team has focused on creating solid foundations that can scale with us. A few highlights:
Claim Finder Custom Onboarding Wizard that guides users through a complex intake process in a clear, human-friendly way.
Claims Quality Pipeline that checks and validates user-submitted claims to ensure accuracy before they move forward.
Case Gen AI Pipeline that helps us analyze incoming information and determine whether a potential case is viable.
Our Stack, at a Glance
We’ve built with a mix of helpful tools with forward-looking frameworks:
Frontend: Static Site Generation with Next.js for fast, modern user experiences.
Backend: A monolithic service written in Golang, deployed to AWS Lambda.
APIs: ConnectRPC for browser and service-to-service communication with autogenerated client/server stubs.
Testing & QA: Healthy unit test coverage, a full-stack QA environment, and alerting that includes headless browser checks.
Deployments: Fully automated code and infrastructure rollouts with GitHub Actions and AWS CDK.
Metrics & Monitoring: Business metrics captured across the stack and surfaced via dashboards.
Internal Tools: An admin dashboard built in Retool, powered by our ConnectRPC API.
A Closer Look at Our Claim Finder Custom Wizard
We built the wizard framework from the ground up because none of the popular solutions out there fully met our needs. The result is a simple yet extensible system: a schema stored in our database, managed through our internal admin dashboard.
When a request comes in, our backend determines the right schema for the scenario, and the frontend dynamically renders that schema with tailored components. This allows us to handle a wide range of flows with consistency.
The framework isn’t static—we continue expanding its capabilities as we migrate more legacy flows and incorporate insights from user experience studies. Each iteration delivers features that better align with how people actually use it.
The Bigger Picture
At Chariot, the technology is central to how we help people get justice. The work we do here directly shapes whether someone gets justice for corporate wrongdoing. It’s meaningful, and it’s high-impact.
As a people-first company, we’re always happy to bring on talent that is excited about our mission. If you happen to be interested in accelerating our mission as our next primary engineering hire, check out our job postings below. For any engineering roles, we’re specifically looking for someone who wants to have a large impact on the foundation and technical direction of the company, and is interested in learning how to build an early-stage VC-funded company.
